Morning Thought
Good morning. My Morning thoughts this week are based
on my time in Romania in December distributing humanitarian aid with Mustard
Seed Jersey.
From my point of view it is always so good and
rewarding to see what we take over put to good use.
In late October we sent our old trailer full of relief
aid to Romania. Once it was emptied it stayed there and one of the Romanian
charities (who work with homeless people) began to convert it into living
accommodation.
So when I was there a few weeks later one of my first
jobs was to see what was happening with the trailer. 2 windows and 2 doors had
been fitted and steps leading up to the doors. Insulation had been added and a
partition to make it into 2 units.
I met the homeless 23 year old young man who moved in
first, all he had was what we gave him – a mattress and some bedding, not much
else, but he was grateful. It was much better than sleeping on the streets.
Then I met the elderly grandmother and her
granddaughter who were to live in the other half of the trailer. The old lady
wept as she explained that now her granddaughter could live with her instead of
in an orphanage.
I felt humbled that I was involved in what was making
such a big difference to people’s lives. I said a quiet prayer of thanks for
how God uses Mustard Seed to help those in need.
