I expected today to be a doing nothing day as it was scheduled to be for reports with Alex but it turned out to be more interesting and eventful than that.

The snow fell lightly all night so the roads were far more treacherous this morning - even the Romanians said it was challenging! The snow continued throughout the day, very fine snowflakes but the depth of snow kept deepening

After Alex and I had finished reports we went to a state run kind of orphanage but for handicapped children, except it keeps them into adulthood. Not sure exactly how the funding works, but know they are very short of resources. We had done some special boxes for them as their needs are different. It was actually one of the most rewarding distributions I have been involved with this year.

Although usually the staff and authorities don't want visitors I was made welcome and shown the bedrooms etc. the children were affectionate and very pleased to have a visitor. I walked round with several of them holding my hand, etc. As far as I could see the toy type contents which would be more suitable for an eight year old were much appreciated especially the flashing squishy toys. The young people's ages went up 20+ and as we had the names we had packed boxes for each with their name on. Of course no photos were allowed but the children were obviously very happy with the boxes and the attention.
