When I was in Romania 18 months ago at Casa Mabel Mustard Seed Jersey’s residential
home for the elderly, I could see the need for a through-the-floor lift. But
the cost of such a lift was prohibitive, it seemed an impossible dream, but we
did pray mentioning this need to God.
In the summer last year quite unexpectedly I heard of a 2nd hand lift
for sale in Jersey that seemed ideal. Even at 1/5 of the cost of a new one - it was a
huge amount of money for us and we sent up many prayers for guidance. The more
we checked it out, the more we saw the lift was ideal for what was needed at
Casa Mabel. And so we purchased it, and transported it to Romania in the late
autumn.
Disappointingly due to a problem with parts they were not able to have
it working when I was there in December 2014.
So I cannot tell you how thrilled I was last month to see the lift in
action taking the immobile elderly residents from first floor to ground floor.
I know I speak for the Mustard Seed Jersey trustees when I say we
believe it was God's provision at a price we could just afford.
To His followers 2000 years ago Jesus said "Whatever you ask in My
Name I will do it" and I believe we saw that worked out as our impossible
dream of a lift became a reality after we prayed.
Can I encourage you to pray about your dreams and hopes - God's answers
may not be what we expect but often the outcome is better than we could ask or
imagine.
