MUSTARD SEED JERSEY PRAYER UPDATE 29th JULY 2015

GIVE THANKS – my trip to Romania earlier this month was very successful. Various concerns I had had about potential difficulties proved groundless. All in all it was very encouraging. [One item of special encouragement to me was how one family with numerous needs (who we have been supporting for close on 10 years) have made huge progress and “really turned a corner”. When I visited them they offered me a rabbit (which I refused) – but this encouraged me no end as it is the first time they have ever wanted to give anything back].

NEW OPPORTUNITIES – I was pleased to visit a “new” secure residential home for the elderly suffering with dementia – it is new to us but has been functioning for 4 years in a village. Funding is very tight for them. I was taken to visit them by Florence and Vasile from Fundatia Vineyard with a view that in future Mustard Seed could assist them. They were delighted that the food parcels they took (left over from Vineyard’s  recent food distribution) were greeted with joy and we saw how bare their food cupboard was.

Now it is the holiday season for the social workers – please pray they all have times of refreshing, remembering

« NELU & CRISTINA awaiting the birth of their 2nd child, please pray for good health for both Nelu, Cristina and their daughter Dalia as well as safe arrival of the baby.

« KEN & FLORENCE as they get ready to return to UK in October in readiness for Ken’s knee surgery. Pray for VASILE & FLORINA as they will take on extra responsibilities.

« TUDOR & VIOLETA running the (new to us) residential home ADPB.

« Staff at AGAPE, especially ANDREEA due to have her first child very soon.

« Pray for KATHY LANGSTON with daughter CODI & ANDREEA due to go on holiday to see family in Canada – as Kathy’s health is poor, she finds travelling really difficult.

« Give thanks but pray for continuing blessing for DORIS or GYONGHYI succeeding in working in Italy. We remember other orphaned young women we have assisted over the years, thinking of ADELA, ESTERA, MIA, MARIA, ANA, AGHI, MARINELLA, CSILLA (now married living in Faro Isles) and NADIA (now married and living in USA)

« MSR key people ALEX & RODY and family, also SERGIO & VIOLETA

Remember also the VULNERABLE ELDERLY & SICK who benefit so much from the work of the social workers.

LOCAL  NEEDS  IN  JERSEY:

·        Pray for healing for Jenny, Rachael, Marta, Bernie and others.

·        We give thanks that the huge backlog of aid (mentioned last month) is now all loaded up to date. We have ideas for new helpers, please pray these new possibilities will work out.

·        Please continue to pray for us for WISDOM in our planning of future aid consignments and the logistics of loading, etc. Due to problems obtaining insurance it seems that all our future aid consignments must be sent with a haulier.

·        And pray for wisdom and ideas as to the best way to proceed to raise funds for the permanent building needed on the site where we have homed families in  porter-cabins.

St Paul writing to the Christians at Thessalonica encouraged them to pray without ceasing. Can I encourage you to continue to pray for the work of Mustard Seed – we need your prayer support.

Rose
