Mustard Seed Jersey Prayer Update November 2018

Sunday November 4th  2018

This afternoon at the Barracks at Greve de Lecq (where we are packing the Christmas shoeboxes) we had a Blessing of the Christmas shoeboxes. It wasn’t a large group of people who came, but we sang some hymns, and prayed asking God’s blessing on the shoeboxes and the helpers. It certainly wasn’t a church traditional building, as we were surrounded by boxes and shoeboxes …

Alex from Romania sent a video recording in which he greeted us all. It was played during the service. He looked back over the almost 20 years he has been involved with Mustard Seed and said that the most rewarding project is always the Christmas shoeboxes for the joy that they bring to those who have so little who otherwise would not get a gift this Christmas.

Please will you continue to bless us with your prayers as we check all the shoeboxes, for an intensive few weeks will we ship at the end of this month, then pray the logistics of sending them to Romania run smoothly so they can bring real joy to the beneficiaries.

Last time I asked for your prayers for our autumn trailer, which worked out amazingly well, in the end, with some new volunteers coming to help which is resulting in the fact that we are now considering palletising which we believe will be cost effective as we have new volunteers. We plan our December aid consignment will be part palletised … testing it out.

As Brexit gets ever nearer, please do pray for wisdom on all sides so that those in need will continue to receive support.

I close by sharing with you the Bible passage read at the Blessing service today:

1 “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.

2 “So when you give to the needy, do not announce it with trumpets, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, to be honored by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

3 But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,

4 so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

In His service

Rose
