2 morning thought Tuesday August 13th
Good morning or should I say buna dimineata which is good morning in Romanian
As always I have come back from my recent trip
to Romania with Mustard Seed Jersey with a number of photos. But the photo that
gives me the most satisfaction and joy is of an elderly lady holding a baby and
next to her is a young woman holding a slightly older child. I look at that
photo and I think “Now that is an answer to prayer”.
When I first knew Ioana she was just recently
married. It was several years before I discovered that she kept having a series
of miscarriages. One of the other social workers told me about how distressed
both Ioana and her husband were at the continued
miscarriages. I respected Ioana for her continued hard work and
cheerfulness in a residential home for the elderly.
I asked several trusted friends if they would start to pray for Ioana that she would have a child she so
wanted and I have to say that we prayed and prayed for over five years. During
that time we were told that the medical advice was
that she should not attempt to have any children naturally and that the suggestion
was that they should look to adopt.
When I was in Romania at Christmas I discovered
Ioana had recently adopted a little girl who was
about just under a year old but what was even more amazing was the fact that Ioana was very clearly pregnant
So to cost a long story short when I was there in June I had the joy of
seeing Ioana with her two daughters the little one
they had adopted and the baby who they quite openly said was a miracle baby,
the answer to many prayers.
Thanks be to God and be encouraged to pray because prayer does work.
