Mustard Seed Prayer update September 26th 2008

Dear Praying Friends

LORRY ON WAY

Our next aid transport to Romania is scheduled to leave Jersey this coming weekend. Drivers JONATHAN MICHEL and RICHARD LANGFORD leave on Sunday evening to pick up the lorry in St Malo, should arrive on Tuesday evening in Romania to unload on Wednesday, and then probably head for home again on Thursday morning. Please pray for them as they travel, for safety and success.

BE ENCOURAGED!  We really believe PRAYER CHANGES THINGS.

A number of our prayers have been answered since the last prayer update in July, but there is still much to pray for:

ROMANIA

·        After various delays the building of the outer structure of the pensioners’ home is due to begin next week. Please pray all goes well and there are no further delays.

·        We have had a generous donation which we believe will enable us to set up a business in Romania which we trust will by and large carry the running costs of the pensioners’ home from the 2nd year.  Thank God for this and ask His blessing on it that it may multiply.

·        We continue to fund-raise to raise the running costs of the home for the first year and again we would value your prayers for success.

·        We asked for your prayers for Adi Matis made redundant by Speranta Familiei to find employment and give thanks that he has a new job with a Swiss charity.

·        KATHY LANGSTON has still not managed to complete the adoption process for her 2 foster daughters CODI and ANDREA. She is standing firm and not resorting to bribery but it is taking a very long time!

·        KEN & FLORENCE HOLMES are well, still in UK visiting family and supporters, we believe they will return to Romania before Christmas.  (In July I asked for prayer for them following a road traffic accident). Meanwhile prayer is asked for their assistants Vasile and Florina who are responsible while K & F are away for the church and outreach programme.

·        Remember ALEX & RODY STROIE – as well as over-all responsibility of all the Mustard Seed Romania projects, Alex will have over-sight of the pensioners’ home building project. He very much believes God’s hand has been in the delayed start as unexpectedly he had a visiting medical team with him assisting in the gypsy villages all this week, but he will be free to focus fully on the building project next week. Pray for Alex for wisdom, strength and good health.

·        Continue to remember FLORI and her need for a kidney transplant. Flori has been unwell, and was in hospital for 2 weeks with a blood infection.

·        Continue to pray for the provision of a ground floor apartment for the Sylaghi family (father is an amputee).

JERSEY

·        We give thanks for BILL NORMAN who has become our new trustee. Please remember him and Mary and Hilary and me (Rose) as we have to make decisions, etc,  Pray for us for WISDOM especially as the costs of aid transport and all other assistance rises.

·        There are a number of very faithful committed volunteers – please ask the Lord to encourage and bless them for their often sacrificial giving of time, etc as they work to help ease suffering in E Europe.

·        As we approach the Christmas shoebox appeal, please pray for the opportunities it brings and that more new helpers will come aboard.

·        Pray also that more people will respond to the Adopt and Granny scheme to assist vulnerable and needy Romanian pensioners throughout the winter or whole year.

·        Some of volunteers are struggling with various health problems, so please pray for wisdom and healing for PHIL, GEORGE, BARRY, LUCILLE, and OTHERS.

Please continue to bless us with your prayers, and be encouraged that prayer really does change things.

In His service

Rose Helie
