Mustard Seed Jersey Prayer Update August 2025
Dear Praying Friends
We sent our last prayer update in early May just before Ron and David went to Romania and Ukraine and before our first aid consignment of 2025 – thank you for your prayers – the paperwork and logistics worked out well..
Ron and David’s was successful and a report on that visit can be found on our website www.mustardseed.org.je Both were happy to see the Ukrainian charity’s organisation and outreach at Chernivtsi. It is near the border with Romania and up until recently was spared any bombing
Please continue to remember TUDOR and other volunteers from the church based charity in Chernivtsi that we give to. They go to the war zone several times a month to share food and other resources as they are able; each time before they leave they pray together for God’s presence and protection to go with them. In the Chernivtsi area there are a number of displaced people to whom they reach out.
Please pray that God will be in the peace discussions and that the Lord’s will will be done in Ukraine.
Over the border in Romania, both David and Ron were pleased to see the good work done by both ALEX of the trust MSR and NELU of the trust AVS. Alex has many links with the Chernivtsi trust and is involved in assisting refugees in the Bihor area of Romania, as well as an outreach to the impoverished pensioners.
Nelu’s outreach work focuses on needy Romanian families and pensioners – many of whom are in dire straits due to illness affecting the earnings of breadwinner. [David had not been to Romania for approx. 20 years and he was disturbed to see the deep level of poverty, having hoped there would be greater improvement since he was last there. (To clarify there is a real improvement but there is still a comparatively small number of people in very great need and those are the ones we assist)].
Please pray for the outreach work of both Alex and Nelu – that God will bless them with wisdom and the resources both human and material that they need to show the love of Christ in practical “hands on” ways.
In Jersey we ask for your prayers as we prepare for our busiest time which is the Christmas shoebox appeal. Alex tells me that he invariably has requests for 100 times more Christmas shoeboxes than we can send. Pray for God’s blessing on our preparations and for energy and strength for the volunteers. Pray we will have enough volunteers to get through all that needs doing & for God’s blessing and favour on our efforts to raise funds to buy food and winter fuel for those in need in both UA & RO..
Yours in Christ
Rose
