5 morning thought Friday 16 August.
Buna dimineata / good morning. Yesterday I
mentioned Alex one of the Romanian social workers that I have known and been
working with for almost 20 years.
When I first met Alex at the end of 1999 he had just become a father to
his first child Rebecca she was only a couple of weeks old when I first saw
her. Later this month she will be getting married. Like her father she is also
involved in reaching out to those in need.
I think we’d all agree that marriage is tough and so many marriages do
fail so I would like to end this weeks morning
thoughts by sharing with you a wedding prayer which is certainly my prayer for
Rebecca and her future husband Bogdan
God bless their marriage from this day forth and keep them in your care.
May you show them your amazing grace in the years of love they’ll share. God
give them the peace to know that whatever is in store the Lord will be right by
their side to help them to endure. May they never waste a moment wishing life
was not unfair but trust instead God has a plan and answers every prayer. They
you may not get just what they want but learn to give-and-take – in times like
that perhaps they’ll learn God’s answer is “Just wait”. May they always see the miracles God sends them every day and the
smallest acts of kindness that they share along the way. Help them support each
other‘s dreams and treat them with respect for in the eyes of God they’re all
treasures to be kept.
Amen – my prayer is not just for Rebeca in Romania but for anyone
listening who is due to get married soon.
Have a great day and God bless you.
